The 2008 NYC Food Film Festival will be held Saturday, June 14th - Friday, June 20th. The festival will run for 5 days this year instead of last year's 3 separate weekends.

The First Annual NYC Food Film Festival was an enormous success! Over 5000 people came to Water Taxi Beach in L.I.C. during the course of the 9 day festival to watch over 20 films about food. If you were among the many who attended you were treated to whole hog barbeque from R.U.B. while watching Joe York's "Whole Hog" documentary, asparagus roll-ups during the doc "Asparagus!", and witnessed a Stahl-Meyer hot dog eating contest just before the screening of the competitive eating film "Swallow Your Pride". The NYC Food Film Festival also gave it's soon-to-be-prestigious "Food Filmmaker of the Year" award to hard working Joe York from the Univ. of Mississippi. The 2008 NYC Food Film Festival is shaping up to be even bigger and better, with awards planned in the Best of Fest and Audience Award categories. Next year we promise more great food films, hands-on food demonstrations, lanyards, free schwag, and at the very least, a bigger banner.
